Frankenstein

At Wicked Wednesday this week, the theme is
Witches, Bats & Black Cats
and our sponsor is
Oddball Art

The bat was lightly coloured with Inktense pencils but it looked a bit flat,
so a little black Wink of Stella gave it lots of sparkle.
The bandages are also Inktense pencils and some googly eyes gave him a bit more character.

The background is a combination of purple Distress Ink and a puff of Ken Oliver Color Burst 'Violet'.  A spritz of water combined the colours as you see above.  To add a little more interest some splodges of crackle paint were randomly added.

Please have a look at all the great images from Oddball Art, I'm sure you'll love them!

Carving Time

Oops!  I'm a little late with posting this week,
never mind, better late than never!

At Wicked Wednesday this week,
the theme is
Halloween Colours
sponsored by Nikki Burnette

I coloured Brittany with watercolour pencils this week, but I think I need a bit more practice as it seems a bit grainy in the photo, although in real life it looks better.  Oh well!

I fussy cut around her and glued her directly onto a piece of Graphic 45 paper from the Steampunk Spells collection.  This in turn, was adhered to background card coloured with Dark Velvet metallic Artalchemy Acrylic Paint.

Some tiny alphabet letters creating a title finishes it off.

Please have a look at Nikki's fabulous images and then come and play along at Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge - we'd love to see you!

Broomstick Control

Gosh, the weeks are simply flying past
or perhaps it's just these cute little witches practising their
broomstick control ?

At Wicked Wednesday this week, the theme is
Halloween, Cute or Creepy
and the images are sponsored by

These cute little witches are coloured with pencils, fussy cut and mounted on dimensionals.
The background paper is from Kaisercraft with a little bit of washi tape for grounding
and a title to finish off.

Please have a look at all the other images available from
A Day for Daisies
and join in the fun at Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge this week.

Equipped with Air-hag!

Now that it is October, there are lots of halloween challenges happening
including at The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers
where the new theme is
'P' is for Pink Halloween

I love the expression on the kitty cat, he looks a little worried!

I picked this stamp up from a craft show a couple of months ago.
As soon as I saw it, it just tickled my fancy and I had to have her!

The background is paper I cut down to tag size.  I had just about used it all and then discovered it again in a craft shop a week or so back so bought another 4 sheets of it.  It just makes the best backgrounds!

I coloured Air-hag with watercolour pencils which I think looks a little blotchy - oh well!

The Awakening

I guess now that it is October, it is also the start of Halloween season.
It's not really celebrated in Australia, although you can certainly buy halloween bits'n'bobs to decorate your house or dress up.  I usually have a bowl of goodies near the front door just in case some of the neighbourhood kids decide to go Trick or Treating - sometimes they do, and other times I get to eat the sweets, hehehe!!!

This week, Wicked Wednesday is starting the creepy season with
Halloween - Anything Goes

My little ghoul is called The Awakening
and she is from Creepie Cute which you can find here.
There are lots of images from which to choose, but where to start?

Anyhow, back to my ATC ....

I printed her off a couple of times so that I could give her some dimension with layering.

She is coloured with Prismacolor pencils which I find blend beautifully.

The background paper is from Graphic 45 'Steampunk Spells'.

Celebrating 90

It's not every day you get invited to a 90th Birthday party,
but that's what my DH and I did this afternoon.
The lady in question is the mother of our good friend
and she celebrated with a stylish afternoon tea with family and friends.

The invitation had a request for 'no presents'
but it didn't say anything about cards!

As I wanted to make something a little different that would stand up nicely,
I thought a Tri-Fold Shutter Card would be perfect.

The flowers are from 'Green Tara' and the butterfly from 'Petaloo'.

The patterned paper is from the 'Prima' Butterfly collection.

I was quite happy with the finished card
and hope 'the birthday girl'  thinks so too!

Isn't she cute?

Isn't she cute?
Well, that's what my friend thinks about her gorgeous little granddaughter.
Not only is she the first grandchild for my friend, but she is the first grandbaby in my Mother's Group which formed almost 27 years ago and is still going strong!

I decided to go with a Twist & Fold card as it is easy to construct but looks complicated
- just how I like fancy fold cards!

After seeing a couple of photos of the new little one, I can vouch for her being very gorgeous
and wish the new family much happiness.
